I started crafting as a child and my arc of crafting loosely follows the trends, good or bad, of the decades….macrame and decoupage in the 70’s, rug hooking and cross-stitching in the 80’s, stenciling and jewelry making in the 90’s. By the early 2000’s I had 2 small children who needed my attention so those were the lean years for crafting. Then I was back at full tilt by 2010, boosted by the explosion of Pinterest and YouTube. I used those sites to teach myself how to crochet, sew tote bags and master tricky origami designs. Lately I’ve been cranking out crocheted hats and infinity scarves—I just love the immediate satisfaction of making something in one sitting, usually while binge watching on Netflix.
My goal is to inspire creativity in others, especially those who say, “I’m not crafty.” On the contrary, I say, “EVERYONE IS CRAFTY!” The trick is finding the right project. Take a look around the blog….you might just find the right project for you.
